Our Wedding4 - 10pmThe O'Donnell House Our wedding will begin at 4pm at The O'Donnell House. The O'Donnell House is a historic home nestled at the base of Mount San Jacinto. Because of its hillside location, guests will need to be shuttled up to the venue via golf carts. Bus shuttles from the Ingleside Inn will drop guests in the parking lot of the Palm Springs Art Museum before taking a golf cart shuttle to the venue. Transportation: Bus shuttles will begin departing from the Ingleside Inn at 3:50pm.The last bus shuttle will depart from The O'Donnell House at 10pm. Weekend Itinerary

The Ingleside Inn is a small, boutique hotel with 30 rooms. Our Welcome Party, After Party, and Farewell Brunch will be hosted on-site. Since the Ingleside Inn will not accommodate all guests, we have booked an additional room block at a neighboring property. Transportation to and from the wedding venue will be provided from the Ingleside Inn.

We have also booked an additional room block at the Avalon Hotel &amp; Bungalows, which is located directly adjacent to the Ingleside Inn. The Avalon is a slightly larger property than the Ingleside Inn, but offers the same Spanish-style grounds with three pools and a spa. When booking at the Avalon, click on “RESERVE”, place the code in the “GROUP CODE” box in the calendar screen, and click on “APPLY GROUP”. This will take you to the calendar dates that have been reserved for our wedding.

Palm Springs has no shortage of amazing hotels and quintessential midcentury modern AirBnBs. While the Ingelside Inn and the Avalon will be the most convenient options for wedding-related events, we wanted to offer alternatives to fit everyone's preferences: The SaguaroThe Saguaro is ground zero if you are looking for a lively Palm Springs experience. We have stayed at The Saguaro one too many times so we're not sure we're ready to face those neon-colored walls again just yet. But that doesn't mean you shouldn't stay here. While the hotel is not walkable into downtown, it is a close drive and the rooms are very reasonably priced, making it a great option. Plus there is plenty of fun to be had on-site at the hotel pool and bar! <a href="www.thesaguaro.com/palm-springs/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">www.thesaguaro.com/palm-springs/</a> The Ace Hotel &amp; Swim ClubThe Ace has a boho vibe and offers a range room options. The Ace also has two pools - one that is more of a party scene with a DJ on the weekends and the other that is more relaxed. The Ace’s on-site restaurant, King's Highway, was formerly a Denny's and is kitschy and fun for dinner. <a href="https://acehotel.com/palm-springs/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">https://acehotel.com/palm-springs/</a> The RowanOne of the newest hotels to open in Palm Springs, The Rowan offers new, modern rooms, a rooftop pool, and an unrivalled location given its address in the heart of downtown. It doesn't have the same quirk as other Palm Springs hotels but it makes up for that in amenities. The Rowan is walkable to the Palm Springs Art Museum where guest will meet to be shuttled via golf cart up to the wedding venue. <a href="https://www.rowanpalmsprings.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">https://www.rowanpalmsprings.com/</a> The ParkerOoOoO The Parker... the crème de la crème of Palm Springs boutique hotels. The Parker is not cheap but if you are looking to go all out, there is not a more quintessential Palm Springs stay than this. The grounds are gorgeous, there are three pools, the restaurants are local destinations, and the lobby shows up in basically every photo ever taken in Palm Springs. Accommodations

To and From Palm Springs

Palm Springs AirportFlying into the Palm Springs Airport is by far the most convenient option, if available. The airport is small and incredibly convenient, both to navigate as well as to get into town, as it is only two miles east of downtown. ONT, SNA, LAXIf flying directly into Palm Springs isn't an option, Ontario, Santa Ana and Los Angeles offer the next closest options, respectively. You will find the most flights in and out of LAX but be forewarned that everything you have heard about LAX is true. Same goes for LA traffic. Flying into any of these airports will require you to rent a car and drive to Palm Springs. Unfortunately, the drive can be over three hours from LAX if leaving during rush hour.

In and Around Palm Springs

Rental Car, On Foot, Or Rideshare It is up to you if you would like to rent a car for the weekend. If flying directly into Palm Springs Airport, downtown and our hotel room blocks are about a five minute drive and Ubers and Lyfts are readily available at the airport. Once at the hotel, it is about one-mile to some of downtown's most popular restaurants and bars. Unfortunately on a recent trip to Palm Springs, we ran into quite a bit of difficulty getting and an Uber or Lyft while in downtown Palm Springs, with wait times of 20+ minutes. For this reason, we tend to recommend renting a car. Renting a car is a great option if you would like the convenience to explore Palm Springs further, including nearby hiking and hot springs. Additionally, it is May in the desert so it will be hot and maybe walking doesn't sound all that appealing.

Wedding Venue Transportation

The O'Donnell House is a historic home situated at the base of Mount San Jacinto. Given its narrow hillside location, cars and busses are not allowed access up the home's driveway. Guests will be shuttled from the base of the driveway up to the venue via golf carts. As such, we ask that guests arrive as close to 4:00pm as possible to help us ensure we are able to get everyone up the hill before the ceremony begins. Bus ShuttlesThere will be four bus shuttles departing from the Ingleside Inn at the following times:3:50pm / 4:00pm / 4:10pm / 4:20pm Bus shuttles will drop guests in the parking lot of the Palm Springs Art Museum at the base of the venue's driveway, where golf carts will be available to take you up the hill. Please understand that we are offering four shuttles to help manage the flow of getting our guests into our venue so we kindly ask that you take the earliest shuttle possible. DrivingIf you choose not to take one of our shuttles, please arrive at the following address to catch a golf cart ride up the hill. Golf cart shuttles will begin at 4:00pm. Transportation

The main street through Palm Springs is Palm Canyon Drive, which is about a block from both the Ingleside Inn and the Avalon hotel. Leaving the hotels and heading north, you will be in the heart of downtown which is home to great restaurants, bars and shopping. A portion of Palm Canyon Drive is part of the Palm Springs Walk of Stars, reminiscent of Hollywood Boulevard.

Downtown Palm Springs

Indian Canyons has many hiking options but we recommend the Palm Canyon trail. This hike will take you into a beautiful palm tree oasis in the middle of the high desert. Before arriving at the trailhead, you will need to pay an entrance fee of about $15/person. Continue straight and follow signs for Palm Canyon. Once parked, we recommend starting on Victor Trail, which is the high trail around the canyon rim, so that you end the hike along Palm Canyon in the shade among the palm trees and along the cold springs.

Indian Canyons

The Palm Springs Aerial Tramway is the largest rotating aerial tramway in the world and will take you close to the top of Mount San Jacinto. Amazing views but maybe not for those with a fear of heights! At the top you will find an observation deck, natural history museum, and access to hiking trails.

If you want to see quintessential Palm Springs architecture, take a drive to the Old Las Palmas neighborhood. It is the neighborhood that is home to properties once owned by Lucille Ball, Judy Garland, and Cary Grant, as well as Elvis Presley's honeymoon estate, which until it was recently sold, was open for public tours. Nonetheless, the neighborhood is full of architecture dating back to the 1920's that is not to be missed.

Old Las Palmas Neighborhood

A great ~2 mile hike to a 60-foot waterfall which may or may not still have water flowing in May. Nonetheless, it is a easy hike that will take you through a beautiful desert landscape with ancient rock art. Please note there is an entrance fee of about $15/adult as it is on a reservation.

Tahquitz Canyon

While not technically in Palm Springs, Joshua Tree National Park is a one hour drive from downtown and is absolutely worth the trek if you are visiting Palm Springs for the first time and have wanted to see the park. It is famous for its rugged rock formations and namesake Joshua trees and has plenty of hiking options, including short nature walks. Enter from the west entrance to put you closest to the most popular hikes and attractions. Nature walk suggestions include the Barker Dam and the Cholla Cactus Garden, neither of which are particularly long or strenuous. A popular short hike is Ryan Mountain but we suggest you do some research on the National Parks' website before venturing out.

Below are some of our favorite restaurants around downtown Palm Springs:

Breakfast / Brunch

Cheeky'sCute breakfast spot with both indoor and patio seating known for its bacon flight. Sherman's Deli &amp; BakeryOld-school, New York-style, sit-down diner that also serves breakfast all day. The bakery case is absolutely distracting. Norma'sLocated in The Parker Hotel, Norma's is a bit scene-y and definitely overpriced but it is a great way to experience The Parker without staying there. Eric hates it for all of those reasons but I recommend the Waz-Za waffle and a Bloody Mary :) FARMFARM offers French classics with a heavy emphasis on farm-to-table sourcing. It is tucked away off of Palm Canyon Drive with a beautiful courtyard and equally pretty interior. FARM is also open for dinner but we prefer it for brunch.

Dinner

Rooster and the PigMaybe our favorite in town! Creative Vietnamese dishes that are best enjoyed family style. It is weirdly located in a strip mall facing a parking lot but that's the fun of Palm Springs - it's a little weird! BIRBABIRBA is an Italian restaurant popular for their pizza and a great patio. It is almost entirely outdoors and located right in the heart of downtown so you are here equally for the food and the ambiance. Workshop Kitchen + BarSuper stylish restaurant also in the heart of downtown, with both indoor and patio seating. The space was originally built as the area's first movie theater in the 1930's. Today, the restaurant boasts modernist design that has won it multiple awards. The food is great too! Melvyn'sWe'd be remiss to not mention Melvyn's! Located at the Ingleside Inn, Melvyn's is old-Hollywood glamour that is hanging onto its Rat Pack-era vibes. Late night there is a piano man in the lounge. This is definitely a steak and martini kind of place. Please note there is a dress code and men are highly encouraged to wear a jacket.

Masks and proof of vaccination are required to enter any indoor facility in Palm Springs, as well as much of California. While some businesses will accept a negative PCR test result within 72 hours, that is not accepted at all businesses, including our venue. Please ensure you bring your vaccination card or a photo of it with you to our wedding. We hope you understand that these safety measures are in place for everyone’s benefit.
